Our story

Honey the way it leaves the hive.

Al Safa Honey began with a simple frustration: most honey on the shelf is heated, filtered and blended until there is very little of the hive left in it. We built our line around the opposite idea — bring the jar as close to the comb as possible and let each variety taste like where it came from.

Every batch is raw, unfiltered and unpasteurized, packed in small runs so it reaches your table while it is still alive with pollen, enzymes and character.

Sourced
Trusted apiaries and small beekeepers we know by name.
Unheated
Never pasteurized, so enzymes and pollen stay intact.
Unfiltered
Strained only — nothing added, nothing stripped out.

From the hive

A few things bees do better than us.

Honey is the only food made by an insect that humans eat — and the work behind every spoonful is genuinely hard to believe.

55,000 miles

Flown per jar

That is roughly the distance bees cover to gather enough nectar for one pound of honey.

2 million

Flowers visited

A single pound of honey takes about two million flower visits by the colony.

1/12 tsp

A lifetime of work

One worker bee produces about a twelfth of a teaspoon of honey in her whole life.

95°F

A perfect hive

Bees hold the hive near 95°F year-round — which is why we never heat our honey past it.
